Reprimand & Parade Zuckerberg to what end ?

The Online Content fabric is basically nothing but expression of the ideas, beliefs, passions &  missions of the society. During the last 1000 years or so, the world was made of, rather selectively connected, small eco systems. Each eco system had its own social, moral, ethical fabric which was mostly sacrosanct and rarely questioned. Even in those small self righteous ecosystems, there were many revolts, uprisings and mostly it was hard to define the right side and wrong side of the war. So in these 1000 years we ( as a society) do not have a common or even a synchronized understanding of the "Right Moral & acceptable ethics "of the world. The problem remains unresolved.

If one would have asked 20 years back as to, what is the possible solution to this. In most circumstances the answer would have been – “We need to talk to each other within society and between societies.”

Teleport yourself to 2018- We have a rather connected world, thanks to communication companies, Internet, and Platforms like Facebook. Now we can talk. We have the freedom to contribute or help anyone on the globe or to express our darkest sides that too anonymously. But not to anyone's surprise , the proposed solution of only connecting the world hasn’t successfully solved the problem. If I May , it has led to further underlining of the extents of disagreements in people. The divisions in societies stand much more pronounced and bad actors are equally taking advantage of the opportunity.However is this really unexpected ? Did anyone really expect a 1000 years old problem with a solution with no costs?

Is it really a bad thing that divisions in society are more pronounced? In my view that’s not the case. I think, until we know where the problem is – we can never solve it. 

Going forward we have three options. One is to lament about it,stay put and believe in the invisible hand of god and hope that post this chaos, common sense will dawn on human kind and sanity will prevail.
Second Option is to chastise and castigate the one company that managed to connect the world. Parade the owner and ask him, if he didn’t know how to solve the problem – why did he bring it out in open?Unfortunately , we have more or less chosen a path like this.  
Last , but not the least , third option is for leaders to take the command  and lead from the front. Lead with conviction, passion, and high moral standards, deal with tough people and situations. Solve one situation at a time. Rather than questioning the man , who , connected the world , ask him to work with you.
